VICHY I

Competition in the redevelopment of the bank of France at Vichy, winner. Realization of a building luxuary homes and businesses in the historic center of the spa town. Due to its location this building is fully involved in the architectural showcase of the city and must, therefore, present an aspect of a “relationship” with the surrounding buildings as stipulated in the local plan. Our proposal is oriented towards contemporary architecture discreet but has great vertical volume, punctuated with large balconies. We use the translucent glass spandrel to preserve flexibility and lightness of the whole and let “slip” the verticals. Urban integration through a smooth transition of scale with neighboring buildings, it seemed appropriate to break the roof line by providing a gradient of heights present and urban landscape unit.
